From the President:
This will be a very short newsletter due to time constraints, but I'm hoping everyone's new year is off to a great start!
-Angela Trigg w/a Angela Quarles
2014-2015 MWG President
Upcoming Events/Opportunities:
Our next monthly meeting is this TONIGHT, February 3, in the first floor meeting room of the West Regional Library from 6-7:30 pm. The presenter will be Angela Quarles: So You Want To Self-Publish? She will share her experiences since embarking on this viable career path and help you decide if self-publishing is right for you. Refreshments are potluck style, so bring something to share if you can.
The Baldwin Writer's Group meeting is Saturday, December 20
(10 a.m. till noon) at the Daphne Library. It will be their holiday party and they will be having an open mike.
The next MWG Open Mic is Wednesday, December 19, at Serda’s Coffee on Royal Street. No pre-registration is required, but we suggest arriving between 5:30-5:50 to sign-up to read. We’ll do as many readings (ten minutes or less) as possible between 6-8pm. You do not need to be a member to read.
Tallahassee Community College will be holding the first annual Word of the South Festival April 10-12, 2015, a festival of literature and music featuring a unique blend of writers and musicians with authors who write about music, musicians who are also authors, authors and musicians appearing together, and everything in between. Confirmed musician/artists include Ann Patchett, the gospel group Sweet Honey in the Rock, a joint appearance of the writer Mary Gaitskill with the musician Peg Simone, plus many more writers and musicians.
